 1.找到一個理由

  Have a cause

“在激勵裏,沒什麼比理由更有力了。這些理由能在困難當前時把你激發起來。它能讓你去做一些看起來不可能的事。”

I can't think of a more powerful source ofmotivationthan a cause you care about. Such cause can inspire you to give yourbest evenin the face of difficulties. It can make you do the seeminglyimpossible things.

儘管也有其他一些動機理由能臨時刺激你,與你休慼相關的那些目標能無限期地激發你。這是一口永不幹涸的激勵泉水。什麼時候你覺得沒動力了,就去找找自己的目標以獲得動力的泉水。

While other causes could inspire youtemporarily, acause that matters to you can inspire you indefinitely. It's aspring ofmotivation that will never dry. Whenever you think that you run outofmotivation, you can always come toyour cause to get a fresh dose of motivation.

 2.要有一個夢想 還要夠大

  Have a dream. A big dream.

Your cause is a powerful source ofmotivation but it'sstill abstract in nature. You need to make it concrete inthe form of a ine how the world will be in the future. Imagine howpeople will live ng a dream is important because it's difficult tobe motivated if youdon't have anything to shoot for. Just think about peoplewho play they be motivated to play if there is no basket toaim at? I don't thinkso. They need a goal. You need a goal. That's what yourdream is for.

但光有白日夢還不夠。這個夢得足夠高遠,那才能激勵你。它得既現實主義又不是可以一蹴而就的。它還得能迫使你離開安逸的環境去大展身手。

But just having a dream is dream mustbe big enough to inspire you. It must be realistic butchallenging. It muststretch your ability beyond your comfort zone.

 3.要有飢渴感

  Be hungry

“‘想要’什麼那還不夠。你一定要對它充滿渴望。你的動力一定要足夠霸道,那才能跨過總是出現在路上的那些障礙。”

Wanting something is not enough. You musthunger forit. Your motivation must be absolutely compelling in order toovercome theobstacles that will invariably come your way.

要想真正得到激勵,你得不僅僅是“想要”,還要是“渴望要”。僅僅是普通慾望沒法幫你渡過困難,因爲你又不是非要不可。很多時候,有沒有飢渴感就是將軍和士兵的差別。

To be truly motivated, you need to havehunger and notjust desire. Having mere desire won't take you through difficulttimes since youdon't want things badly enough. In many cases, hunger makes thedifferencebetween the best performers and the mediocre ones.

怎樣纔能有飢渴感?這裏就得看你的.動機目標和夢想了。如果你又有關心的目標又有和之相關的白日夢,你就該有一種飢渴感纔對。如果你認爲自己正在喪失這種飢渴感,你所要做的就是再一次連結起目標和夢想。讓它們繼續激發你並給你帶來飢渴。

How can you have hunger? Your cause andyour dream playa big role here. If you have a cause you care about and a bigdream related toit, you should have the hunger inside of you. If you thinkthat you are losinghunger, all you need to do is to connect again to yourcause and dream. Let theminspire you and bring the hunger back.

  4.別管別人

  Run your own race

“我又不想比別人跳舞跳得好。我只想着跳得比自己好而已。”

I do not try to dance better than anyoneelse. I only tryto dance better than myself.

要想灰心喪氣,拿自己跟別人比可謂立竿見影。就算一開始你豪氣沖天,一和別人比,你馬上就繳械投降。

Comparing yourself with others is aneffective way todemotivate yourself. Even if you start with enthusiasm, you will soon lose yourenergy when you compare yourself with others.

千萬別這麼做。你跑自己的,管別人呢。拿自己和別人比,就像讓一個游泳的和一個跑步的用同一時間標準鬥快。都不一樣,天曉得你怎麼比較出來?

Don't let that happen to you. You have your own race sohow other people perform is irrelevant. Comparing yourself withothers is likecomparing the performance of a swimmer with a runner using thesame timestandard. They are different so how can you compare one with the other?

Finish each day and be done with it. Youhave done what you could.

Believe it or not, one of the bestdemotivators is yourpast. Your past can drag you down before you realize past can give youa heavy burden on your shoulders.

不過,好消息是這些負擔你根本用不着去背。拿下來扔掉吧。過去你可能犯了錯,可能因爲自己的所做所爲讓人大失所望。但都過去了,再怎麼樣你都沒法彌補了。

The good news is it's a burden you don'thave to it off your shoulder and leave it. You might make mistakesin the past. Youmight disappoint others with what you did. But it’s over. It'salready in thepast and there's nothing you can do about it.
