日常生活中，“泡沫”有很多意思，那麼我們應該怎樣正確翻譯它呢? “泡沫”的第一個意思是“聚在一起的許多小泡”。英語可以翻譯爲“bubble/foam”。

例如：“The child likes to blow bubbles into water through a straw.”(這個喜歡用麥稈吸管往水裏吹泡泡。)

“The glass of beer has a good head of foam.”(這杯啤酒上有厚厚的一層泡沫。)

“The extinguisher is filled with chemical foam.”(這個滅火器裏充滿了化學泡沫。)

“泡沫”的第二個意思是比喻某一事物表面上的繁榮，而實際上虛假不實的成分。英語翻譯爲“bubble”，

例如：“As a stock market bubble is taking shape, the investors should take precautions against the risks.”(股市泡沫正在形成，投資者應該防範風險。)

“In March of 2003, the Internet bubble suddenly burst. ”(2003年3月，互聯網泡沫爆裂。)

“經濟泡沫”可以翻譯爲“economic bubble”，而“泡沫經濟”翻譯爲“bubble/foamy economy”。

例如：“A real estate bubble is a type of economic bubble that occurs periodically in local or global real estate markets.”(房地產泡沫是本地或全球房地產市場週期性發生的一種經濟泡沫。) “Bubble economy usually starts with false prosperity and ends in a breakout of crises. ”(泡沫經濟通常以虛假繁榮開始，以危機爆發告終。)
